About PlantECG

What is PlantECG?

PlantECG is an innovative system for non-invasive monitoring of plant physiological status using chlorophyll fluorescence analysis. It represents a breakthrough in plant health diagnostics, enabling the detection of stress in plants within seconds—like an "EKG" for plants.

Core Technology: The system analyzes OJIP (Chlorophyll fluorescence induction kinetics) to assess plant vitality and stress conditions without damaging the plant.

How to Use This Analyzer

The PlantECG Analyzer processes fluorescence data collected from the PlantECG fluorymeter device. For instructions on using the device itself, see the Device Guide.

  1. Select CSV Files: Click "Select CSV files" to upload one or more CSV files containing fluorescence measurement data from the device
  2. View Analysis: The analyzer automatically processes your data and displays:
    • OJIP Fluorescence curves with logarithmic time scale
    • Radar charts showing key physiological parameters
    • Statistical analysis including average values and standard deviation
  3. Get Results: Click "Get results" to download:
    • Processed CSV file with calculated parameters
    • OJIP fluorescence curve as PNG image
    • Radar chart showing parameter ratios as PNG image

The Science Behind PlantECG

PlantECG builds on decades of chlorophyll fluorescence research pioneered by the late Prof. Reto J. Strasser. Prof. Kalaji has developed novel approaches to monitor plant physiological status by analyzing how plants respond to light stress through fluorescence emission patterns.

The OJIP parameters calculated by this analyzer include important metrics such as:
